Joe Bussard the hero of Desperate Man Blues has made it his life's work to collect and preserve 78rpm records, mostly from the 1920's and 1930's

From the 1950's when he was a teenager and first got his drivers licence to the present day he has scoured the attics and basements of the southern states of the USA in search of rare music

He has amassed what is generally reckoned to be the finest collection in the world. It now numbers some 25,000 records
